I've always known this, but somebody told me something one time about forgiveness.

我一直都明白这个道理，但直到有一次，有个人传授给了我一些关于宽恕的事情。

Forgiveness is not for you.

宽恕不是为了你自己。

Forgiveness is not for the other person.

宽恕不是为了对方。

Forgiveness is you.

原谅的其实就是你自己。

See, your unwillingness to forgive another person is like you sipping the poison, waiting on them to die.

看，你不愿意原谅别人，就好像是你在细细品味着毒药，却还等着他们去死。

You can't sip the poison of unforgiveness and expect them to die.

你不能喝下这杯不原谅别人的毒药，却指望他们死去。

Forgiveness is for you.

宽恕是为了你自己。

Something else I heard somebody say.

我还听别人说过。

You can't drive your car looking in the rear view mirror.

你不能一直看着后视镜开车。

You can't.

不能这样做。

If you keep looking in the rear view mirror, you gonna keep crashing your car.

如果你一直看后视镜，你就会一直撞车。

There's a reason why the rear view mirror's this big and the windshield is this big.

后视镜这么小，挡风玻璃却这么大，都是有原因的。

That's the reason for it.

这就是原因。

'Cause all the rear view mirror does is allows you to see what you've passed.

后视镜的作用就是让你看到你所经过的一切。

And to prevent what you've passed from coming up on you again.

并防止你经过的东西再次出现在你面前。

That's all the rear view mirror's for.

这就是后视镜的作用。

The windshield is your future.

挡风玻璃上能看到的就是你的未来。

It's where you going, it's where you headed.

这是你要去的地方，也是你前进的方向。

I hope you all picked up this today.

我希望大家今天都能明白这个道理。

And think about how that affects your life.

并且要思考一下这能给你的生活带来什么影响。

If you got someone who you feel has wronged you and you carrying that.

如果有人让你觉得很委屈，而你却还背负着这种委屈。

That's like a cancer.

那就会像癌症一样。

And all it's doing is eating away at you.

这一切都在侵蚀着你。

Do you know how many people I've had to forgive that have never asked me for forgiveness?

你知道有多少我不得不原谅的人，根本就从来没有向我请求过原谅吗？

You know how many people I just let go so I could just go where God had for me?

你知道我释怀了多少人,好让我去上帝为我安排的地方吗？

'Cause I just ain't had no more time to spend no more time thinking about that.

因为我已经没有时间再去想这些了。

Let that be a lesson to you, some，you know what my father told me a long time ago?

你知道我父亲很久以前告诉我什么吗？

He said, son, when a fool is talking, listen very carefully because listening to a fool is important, because knowing what not to do is just as important as knowing what to do.

他说，孩子，当一个傻瓜在说话时,仔细听，因为听一个傻瓜说话很重要,原因就是，知道不做什么和知道做什么同样重要。

Look, man, if you got something that's been bothering you in your life, get past it.

听着，伙计，如果你的生活中有些事情困扰着你，那就去克服。

See, if God wakes you up in the morning it's a sign from God that He ain't through with you yet.

你看，如果上帝在早晨叫醒你，那是上帝给你的一个信号，说明祂还没跟你玩完。

That's why He wakes you up.

When He's done with you, you won't wake up no more.

But as long as He got something for you, He keeps waking you up.

但只要祂有东西要给你，就会一直叫醒你。

Why don't you wake up to go see what that is?

你为什么不醒来看看是什么呢？

He didn't get you past whatever it was, whatever it was that's been on you, He done really brought you through it.

无论你遇到了什么，无论你身上有什么，祂都没有让你直接过去，而是真正带你度过了难关。

Because He keeps waking, you're done.

因为他一直在唤醒你，你已经完成了。

Don't lay there wallowing in your past, man.

别躺在那里沉湎于过去，伙计。

Your past is back there.

过去的就已经过去了。

I would rather show the world what love do through forgiveness than sit up in here and win a damn argument.

我宁愿通过宽恕去向世界展示爱的力量，也不愿坐在这里赢得一场该死的争论。
