What does the word “autumn” stand for in your impression?

Golden leaves scattering over the city, or red maples dyeing through the forests?

In the Garden of Nations on Left Bank in Binjiang lies a sea of pink flowers.

Here, autumn means pink.

粉黛乱子草（或毛芒乱子草）多年生暖季型草本，株高可达30-90cm，宽可达60-90cm。花期9月中至11月中，金秋时节开始盛放，粉黛乱子草开花时，绿叶为底，粉紫色花穗如发丝从基部长出，远看如红色云雾。

Muhlenbergia capillaris, commonly called pink muhlygrass or pink hair grass, is a clump-forming, perennial warm-season grass with a height of 30-90cm and a width of 60-90cm. With a flowering period from mid-September to mid-November, it usually begins to bloom in golden autumn seasons. When the grass blooms, the pink-purple flower spikes grow out like hair from the green leave bases, assembling a red cloud from a distance.

前年，粉黛开时

吸引了一大波的游客

争先恐后占领最佳拍照位

A large number of tourists were attracted by the pink muhlygrass the year before last year. They scrambled to occupy the best position for a snap, bending the grass and even destroying the plants. Too late to stop, the administrator almost burst out crying.

Yet the blooming season of Muhlenbergia capillaris has arrived again as scheduled.

How about these pink grasses this year?

从南口进入

沿着悠悠的小道

就能看见不远处成片的粉色花海

半人高的粉黛乱子草

细如发丝的花穗呈团雾状

曼妙轻盈，如梦似幻

Entering from the South Exit and walking along the winding path, you can find a sea of pink flowers not far away. The pink grasses with the height of half-person tall are holding their hair-thin spikes, misty and airy like a graceful dream.

每一株都像一朵粉色的云

身处花海中，虽无花香阵阵

却像是做了一场香甜的梦

甜甜的少女心

就轻易被粉黛乱子草勾起

Every plant grows into a pink tiny cloud.

Though there being no floral fragrance, throwing yourself into the sea of flowers is just like sinking yourself into a sweet girly dream woven by the Muhlenbergia capillaris.

蓝天白云的映衬下

粉色在这里格外的显眼

粉黛乱子草是不能细赏的

单是一株，看不见它颜色

要百株千株在一起，才有这遍野的美

Pink becomes particularly eye-catching against the blue sky and white clouds. It is not suggested to look at one single pink muhlygrass alone, because the color of one single plant is too faint, and it takes hundreds of plants together to create this wild beauty.

除了粉黛乱子草

这里还有大片的其他的花朵

也同样很美丽

万国花园像是不经意间打翻了调色盘

黄色、紫色、绿色、红色

……

There are more other beautiful flowers than just the pink muhlygrass. The Garden of Nations seems to have accidentally overturned the palette and spilled out all colors of yellow, purple, green, red and so on.
